The body as patchwork quilt

Imagine the world as made up of vibration. The more dense the vibration, the more solid it appears. Thus a table will be vibrating but at such a density that it appears solid, whereas my coffee will be vibrating at a softer frequency so it appears liquid.

Each part of the body can be prone to illness, which has been described as a blockage of the energy in that region.  We are supposed to store our unexpressed emotions in different parts of our body.  For example, the lower belly is our emotional centre and fear is in our stomach, the lungs are filled with sadness, the shoulders hold our anger.  I’ve heard our left side is our feminine side, and our right side is our masculine side.  Louise Hay wrote a book all bout healing bodily afflictions using mantras specifically designed for this purpose, and I remember that the one for hurt fingers and toes was related to minor fears of the future, and the hips and lower back are where we feel supported, so a problem with the right hip would be feeling unsupported by the masculine, and a pain in your left shoulder would mean you are angry at the feminine.  A problem in the throat would relate to challenges expressing yourself, and short-sighted eyes would relate to a reluctance to see what is here.

When I learned Thai massage they taught us about the energy pathways through the body called meridians, and each person you work on would have different areas of sensitivity and tension.  Reflexology teaches us that even more than that, each part of the foot is related to a part of the body and so a pain in your toe might mean a problem with your intestines…

When meditating you will find that phantom pains appear in the body which stay for a time, whether short or long nobody can tell you, but then disappear without a trace.  Meditation is a form of self-healing, allowing nature to do its work; releasing those blocked energies and tensions that come through the stresses of life and when you stop and are still, they can at last release.   Sometimes accompanied by an emotional release, sometimes by a memory.  Sometimes we find an explanation, but other times we simply don’t know why.  Some of these blockages seem to be hereditary, inherited and passed down the generations from parents to children since who knows when.
